Concept + Features
Located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, this project was intended to encapsulate the true essence of Squarespace's brand: bold, innovative, and lively.

Upon entering the space visitors are greeted by a bespoke reception desk featuring dramatic marble stone. This desk is a square shape, alluding to the Squarespace branding, with black powder-coated steel on the top. A second desk of light oak timber battens is cleverly concealed behind the square desk.

An OLED screen is also behind the desk, displaying marketing videos of businesses that use Squarespace.

Entering the waiting area, custom bench seating with contrasting soft furnishing complements the dramatic stone coffee table and echoes the materiality of the reception desk. Light oak timber battens are seen along the walls cohesively adding warmth to the space with the large squiggle pendant hanging above symbolising the playful essence of Squarespace's brand.

Sketch Development

Inital forms were seen as a modular square shape with a free hanging edge.
Concept
Visions of cohesive pendant lights, constrasting curved walls, and OLED display screens were also among my first revelations.
